Fishing for flounder in Carolina Beach is not a problem

Article by: Captain John Carty

Fishing for flounder is no problem in Carolina Beach. Let’s find out here they are…

On the piers people are reporting catching croakers, flounder, bluefish, sheepshead and black drum.

In the surf people are reporting catches of flounder, bluefish, puppy drum, croaker and Virginia Mullet.

Inshore, people are reporting catches of speckled trout, flounder, bluefish, red drum, croaker, Virginia Mullet and sheepshead.

Offshore there are reports of King Mackerel, Spanish Mackerel, dolphin, sailfish and white marlin.

As for bottom fishing, people are reporting catches of grunts, black bass, gag and grouper, and tilefish.

This week’s fishing tip: Whenever you have bait leftover while fishing for flounder, don’t throw it away. If it’s still in good condition, immediately after you get home, freeze it for another day. Shrimp and minnows are hard to get at certain times of the year, or it is excellent to take backup bait the next time you go fishing.

Keep fishing and be safe.
